September 25-27, 2009 Ferry Island

...and finally we can BURN SOME WOOD!!

I bought a wrought iron fire hook for Gerry when we were in Barkerville and he finally got to use it!

Before this camping trip I felt we'd keep the trailer for one more summer and then trade up for one with a real bed. With Gerry's physical disabilities it will just be easier than it is with the fold out beds. They're great, because the beds are always just beds and they don't intrude on the living space in the trailer, but we need a normal bed.

After this camping trip I'm not so sure we'll last one more summer so maybe we'll look around and see what we can find and what our truck can haul. It's going to be a lonnggg winter.

August 23-September 5, 2009

Dry camping at Beaumont Park for one night on our way to...

Robert's Roost in Quesnel. Full service campground. We hear the fishing is good but weren't able to catch any...although Matt gave it a good try. The swimming wasn't ideal as the weeds are so tall...oh and campfire ban still in effect :(

And we finally made it to Barkerville. A must-see and a full day.

BC Day long weekend August 2009...................... Kleanza Creek Provincial Park

With the Skaar family.

It was the hottest weekend and the freezing cold glacier water was hard to resist! We couldn't have any campfires as a province-wide burn ban was in effect.

An archery shoot event. Dry camping. Gorgeous surroundings. This would've been the beginning of flood season, but it didn't happen this year!

May 2009 Ferry Island & Rosswood

Camping in the rain...I still hate it even though we have the trailer. We gave the new generator a good workout and used the solar covers by PopUp Gizmos. They are amazing! Absolutely NO condensation on the tent ends and since we had the furnace on most of the time and it was so cool outside we really expected some drips. We had the solar side facing down to keep the heat inside...when we're camping in warmer weather we'll turn them over so the solar side faces out to direct heat away.

...there are more pictures on one of these computers. The guys were able to leave the trailer with friends in Terrace since we were going to be back for the long weekend just 4 days later. Thank you Mar and Siggy!
